Plasma TVs can display a higher contrast ratio than LCD TVs and this enables you to see more rich colors and shades or the picture.

2. High Response time
If you often view TV programmers which involves high speed actions and you don’t want to miss the high speed action . Plasma TVs has faster response time and they can display high action as it happens without a delay or trail.

3. Viewing Angle
Plasma TV offer wider angle of view for a clear picture . If your TV viewing area is planned in such a way that some family members or guests may always be sitting at an angle greater than 130 degrees ( LCD limit ) to the Television and you want them to enjoy picture as fully as persons in front of the television .

4. Screen Burn in
You don’t watch TV for long hours and don’t leave TV on with a static image from DVD or Game player for hours .
Plasma TVs may show a screen burn in after a few years . Burn in is the case of an image etching permanently on the screen if same screen area is illuminated constantly over a period of time .

7. You are ok with high power consumption :
Because of the technology used in Plasma TVs , they consumes more power than LCDs so if you watch TV for short time you can live with higher power consumption by plasma TVs .

8. Altitude :
Your house is located below 6500 ft elevation and you don’t see relocating up that elevation in next few years . Plasma TVs emit buzzing sound at the elevation of 6500 ft or above and that may prove pretty annoying if you live or plan to live at a higher elevation .

9. Screen Sizes
You are looking only for a Plasmas TV bigger than 37″ in size. Plasma TVs are are not available below 37 inches so you will have a size choice only from 37″ and above..

10 . Short Term investment
You want to watch it for next 4-5 years and move on to latest technology than . Since Plasma TV doesn’t have any replaceable part if the picture quality deteriorates or a period of time there is nothing much you can do about it . Picture quality can suffer due to burn out of the material used to show the picture leading to less brightness and colors .

The contrast ratios indicate the ratio between white and black level of TV, the higher the ration the better. Though plasma TVS typically have a higher contrast ratios , you can find LCD TVs with comparable contrast ratios . Contrast is one of the many factor for picture quality and you should not make a purchase just because of higher contrast ration of a TV .
( Contrast is a ration between maximum and minimum brightness , if a LCD has a maximum brightness of 800 cd/m2 and minimum brightness of 2 cd/m2 the contrast ration would be 800/2 or 400:1 )

3.Picture Quality and resolution is better :
LCDs TV has more picture producing elements per same screen size than plasma TV and they provide more resolution for the same size of plasma both these factors leads to better picture quality and high resolution picture .

4. Viewing angle :
LCD TV is viewed best when it is in the center and everyone will look the TV directly . Although LCD Tvs provide viewing angles of up to 130 degrees yet you may think of the situation if you have to watch TV at an angle greater than 130 degree on a daily basis.

5. LCD consumes less power :
LCD TVs use less power than plasma TVs of the same size so over the period of time watching LCD TV will cost less as compared to Plasma Television and save you some money on electricity bill!

6. Less and Replaceable Wear and tear
LCD has backlight florescent bulb which can fade over period of few years . The good news is that this is the only element susceptible in LCD to wear and tear and it can be replaced in most of the new LCD TVs. and a new bulb can give the TV a new bright life. This is not the case for plasma where display coating fades and can’t be replaced .

7. LCD is preferred as Computer monitor
LCDs are preferred in computer monitor for displaying static images like text , spread sheets or just images . If you are planning to use your TV as monitor for your laptop to watch movies or work, LCD will provide you better quality than Plasma TV. Plasma may give you somewhat hazy letters and images .

8. No Burn in problems :
Image burnout happens when a static image remains on the screen for a very long time and have a faded impression of the image left on the screen forever . LCDs use a different technology than plasma and they do nor suffer from image burn in problem as in Plasma TVs.

9. Improved Response time :
Response time matters most when you are watching a high speed action with every thing moving at very fast pace such as car racing. TVs with good response time will be able to display the action as it happens where as in high response time TVs picture may appear to be lagging . Generally response time of an LCD TV is less than that of response time of plasma TV but latest improve ments in the technology has made it possible to provide a very good response time for LCDs as well. Sharp has quoted a 6ms Response Time for some of its model .

10. No Altitude related problems :
LCD will be your choice if you live or may move to live at altitude of 6500 feet or above (you never know in the current job situation ) . Plasma TVs at this altitude emits a buzzing sound like a neon sign.

Desktop needs some space to put the main cpu unit , keyborad , mouse and monitor and if you have that much space available in some room or in corner with a desk than you are fine .

2. You like to work in a defined work area with less distraction .
You want to do you office or business work in a formal setting so that you can concentrate and easily access your books , notes ,CD etc , desktop is the solution for you to setup a permant place to work .

3. You want your kids to play or study in a defined araea .
Sometimes Kids may wants to play or study on the computer and you can provide them a proper environment where they can work or play on computer without disturbing entire household .

4. You want to reduce risk of spoiling your computer with coffee or water or other liquids .
Generally Desktops are protected by a hard cover and only thing exposed to your Tea , coffee or Soda is the keyboard or mouse . in worst case if you drop your drink on the table , chances are it will only impact keyboard which can be easily replaced if it goes bad . Your main computer will remain safe from damage .

5. You don’t want to spend almost double amount on a Laptop.
Prices of desktop are comparatively cheaper than a laptop so if you want to save some money and willing to sacrifies the mobility you should buy a Desktop.

6. You can easily upgrade your desktop later – hdd , dvd burner , ext hdd
Desktop being housed in a bigger box it is often easier and cheaper to upgrade by installing the memory , disk etc inside the computer or adding disk , dvd/cd burner externally .

7. You want to avoid high cost of repair later.
Cost of repairing a desktop may be lower as often you can buy a failed card or disk from different vendors and install it by your self . Laptop being a compact unit is difficult to rerair by yourself and its components also costs more.

8. You want to avoid physical damage to the computer.
A Desktop tucked under your table had very rare chances of a physical damage until unless you decide to unplug it and throw it out of the window .

9. You want to use it as a family computer to be used by memebers of the house .
Desktop being located at a fixed spot everyone in the family can sit and work there without disturbing others .

10.You are not comfortable working on Laptop keyboard .
Some people are not comfortable working on small laptop keyborad for long time and this can be one of the factor as to why you may want to buy a desktop .
